Samuel Gonzalez is a Los Angeles-based visual development artist and illustrator. Originally from Colorado, he studied at Colorado State University, earning a BFA in Graphic Design in 2009. He then moved to New York City where he enjoyed city life as a graphic designer for years, until he discovered his passion for concept art and entertainment design. Having grown up as an avid gamer, he soon became obsessed with learning the skills necessary to create the stories and worlds he loved.
Eventually, he left in-house life behind and relocated to Los Angeles in order to pursue his creative passions. He studied, traveled the world, exhibited work, and honed his creative skills. By spending months at a time traveling abroad solo, over years he soaked up rich international perspectives which are now essential and valuable infusions into all of his work. His approach to visual storytelling is powered by a range of technical capabilities, informed by life experience and honed into a distinct creative voice which meets the world as a mix of enthusiastic problem solving, expressive human experience, and unique visual flair.
